I picked up a 48" King Kutter for my BX2200. It works fine, plenty of power even in heavy grass. I find that the wide tires of the tractor push down the grass & leaves tracks when the grass is really heavy. Best to clip it before it gets so long. As for use in uneven territory, the adjustable top link that Art suggested would be good however I found that its just as easy to remove the top link from the mower. The top link stays neatly in the upright hook & remains readily available if you need to lift the rear wheel. For most mowing, I think you'll find that the mower stays closer to the contour of the land. For transport simply connect it again.

I have used my BX2200 w/60" belly mower to mow some very steep banks along the road. I have found the seat belt is useful to help stay on the seat. The agility of this machine is incredible. My neighbor thinks I'm crazy but I grew up on a farm with hilly pastures that were mowed every year with big equipment. I don't feel I've even come close to the tipping point & its tough to stay on the seat! Regarding the the Roll Over Protection (ROP) bar, it seems high enough for me, I'm 6'-2". Its a trade off, for getting under trees etc. if it were any higher.

I have the 60" hydraulic angle blade for clearing snow. Works great! I don't know why you would want a front blade that doesn't have power angle. My tractor is fitted with the same hydraulic control as the front end loader. Hoses & blade are quick connect. On or off in less than a minute.

I bought a BX2200 in Sept. & taking out the cost of the 60" pwr angle blade ($1800) leaves about $10,500 for the tractor & 60" belly mwr with turfs. At the time it seemed like the only one available in the area. Had to add some additional lighting so I could see for snow removal. Great mower, great for snow even without chains to chew up my concrete driveway I might add.

For wheel barrel type work consider a 3pt trip bucket. I've used this on my BX and I can pack it pretty full of sand before the front end gets light. For about $200 you can't beat it unless you need to load materials higher than the 3pt arms can lift. It works fine for gravel, dirt, sand, bushes etc. I've even used it to load & unload dirt from my trailer. I just park the trailer in low spot & back right onto the trailer.

BX2200 was nearly $2000 less than JD4100 4x4 hydro-tractor w/60" belly mower & 60" power angle front blade. I wanted the 4WD for steep slopes & getting around in winter so the 400 series Deere was out of the question without 4WD. We use the tractor primarily for mowing so we also liked the smaller profile of the BX. The JD foot hydro-pedals are nice; the JD dealer also pointed out the slightly heavier 3pt capacity & bigger hydraulic pump on the JD. These things weren't $2000 important to me. In fact I like the lower profile (easy on/off) of the BX. The 3pt arms are stiff until the paint is worn off the knuckles but it works just fine. The BX mower is fantastic...I have to negotiate with my wife, who does most of the mowing, in order to use it. I recently mowed a 1/2 acre field of grass/weeds that hadn't been mowed all year (the old MTD couldn't touch it). The BX chewed up & spit out grass by the bushel barrel. As long as I avoid the small trees I may not even need a 3pt rotary brush mower-the belly mower works just fine. My choice was the BX based on price & so far it appears to be a very well-built piece of equipment that I'm very satisfied with. I just took the money I saved & bought a new aluminum trailer.
